we’re in the neighborhood

Posted under Local Search

I’ve long believed that neighborhoods represent a key ingredient in how local search and media evolves. While the concept has stuck with me, the content gap made

Yelp To Add Video Ads

I think that Microsoft rumor makes more sense as Microsoft has clearly invested massively in the local search space in the last 12 months through tech acquisitions (notably Fast and TellMe). Reliance Invests in US Social Networking Portal Whrrl.com – Looking Strongly at Location Based Services

Posted under Local Search

Reliance Technlogy Ventures Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Capital (owned by ADAG) has invested in a US Based Social Networking Site – Whrrl.com.   I just checked out Whrrl.com and it’s basically a network that enables users to combine Location Based Services along with some social networking features. So a user can basically keep updating his or her status through various gateways. A local Dopplr (so to speak). Along with that there are the standard location rating features.
